A New Way to Stay

The Outpost was built on a simple belief—the Grand Canyon deserves a lodging experience as unique and restorative as the landscape itself.

After seven years operating unique stay rentals in Northern Arizona, General Manager Chris Martin noticed a striking gap: nearly 95% of lodging options near the Grand Canyon were traditional hotels and motels. Visitors travel from around the world to experience one of Earth’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders, yet their accommodations rarely reflect that sense of wonder. Chris envisioned a place that did more than provide a bed for the night but instead enhanced the journey and left guests feeling genuinely restored.

The Outpost is the realization of that vision. The property features fourteen renovated Airstream units, each independently designed and thoughtfully decorated to feel both distinctive and comfortable. The true hallmark, however, lies just outside each unit: a private hot tub. After a long drive or a full day of hiking the canyon, guests can soak under the vast, star-filled Arizona sky, an experience that often becomes the highlight of their stay. Additional amenities include a dog park, a barrel sauna, and, for the bold, a cold plunge.

What fuels his passion is the guests’ reactions, the audible excitement when they first encounter the brilliance of a night sky unspoiled by city lights, and the sense of calm that follows. The Outpost Grand Canyon is a natural extension of that passion, offering travelers a more meaningful, immersive way to experience the region rather than simply passing through. Located just 25 minutes from the Grand Canyon, it serves as an ideal basecamp for hikes, tours, and unforgettable sunrises.

Beyond the guest experience, The Outpost plays an important role in Northern Arizona’s local economy. While many outdoor lodging and glamping properties shut down during the winter months, The Outpost remains open year-round, supporting local jobs, contributing to tax revenue, and ensuring travelers always have access to lodging worthy of the Grand Canyon itself.
